About the CSE Department The CSE department was established in 1983 and is one of the core engineering departments at the college. It offers a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of around 180 students. The department is also recognized as a research centre and offers M.Sc. (Engineering by Research) and Ph.D. programs under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and AICTE’s QIP scheme. The CSE department aims to develop technical knowledge, innovative problem-solving skills, ethical values, and life-long learning habits among students. Vision & Focus To build competent IT professionals who can cater to industry, society, and research. Emphasis on both theoretical knowledge and practical application. --- Faculty and Teaching The department has a qualified and experienced faculty team including professors, associate professors, and assistant professors in various CSE areas like algorithms, software systems, and computing fundamentals. The Head of the CSE department is usually a senior faculty member with leadership responsibilities. --- Infrastructure & Facilities The college campus has modern computing labs with good internet connectivity and computing resources. There are research labs and state-of-the-art facilities for student projects. Campus infrastructure also includes hostels, a library with books and e-resources, seminar halls, and technical spaces. --- Placements & Career Opportunities The Training & Placement Cell works with recruiters to help students get internships and job offers. According to student surveys and placement reports: Many CSE students receive placement offers with typical packages ranging from about ₹2.4 LPA up to ₹15–20 LPA based on experience and performance. Recruiters include companies like TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and various IT and software firms.
